Lounge Baby is a five-piece live band from Canberra with 112 years of collective experience and a setlist spanning 1918 to 2026. Born from a one-off private party in July 2024, they blend rock, pop, lounge, and groove, shifting effortlessly from laid-back atmosphere to high-energy dancefloor sets. Featuring Thea on lead vocals, Steve on drums, Peter on guitar, Sharon on bass, and Vanessa on saxophone, they're a regular fixture across Canberra's pubs, clubs, and festivals.
Long bio
Lounge Baby started as a one-night thing. In July 2024, five Canberra musicians came together for a private party, no plans beyond the evening, no expectations beyond a good time. The crowd loved it. The band loved it more. So they kept going. Drawing from over a century of recorded music, 1918 to 2026, and backed by 112 years of collective experience, Lounge Baby brings a rare combination of range and instinct to every performance. Rock, pop, lounge, groove: they move between styles with ease, reading the room and delivering what the moment calls for. The current lineup features Thea on lead vocals, who stepped into the role in January 2026, following founding vocalist Brooke, alongside Steve on drums, Peter on guitar, Sharon on bass, and Vanessa on saxophone. Together, they're as comfortable providing smooth background atmosphere as they are driving a packed dancefloor. Since forming, Lounge Baby has become a familiar face across Canberra's live music scene appearing at regular pub and club nights, food festivals, community events, corporate functions, and private bookings. Professional, adaptable, and genuinely fun to watch.
